The firm provides comprehensive legal services to public and private universities throughout Poland. We have great practical experience in the field of education law at the college/university level.
The most important achievements of the firm in the field of higher education law include obtaining for the University of Technology in Katowice (2018), and for the Medical University of Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Warsaw (2020), licenses to conduct Master’s studies in medicine – training medical doctors. Thanks to legal support of Marek Wierzbowski and Stanisław Radowicki, both private universities were granted the privilege to educate future doctors. Currently in Poland, only four private universities have such permission, of which two of them obtained it thanks to the support of our lawyers.
We have advised universities in many other matters, assisted them in disputes with the Ministry and other institutions supervising colleges and universities – for example in discussions with so called PKA – Polish Accreditation Committee. We also have rendered services for governmental entities. For several years prof. Wierzbowski was an adviser to the Minister of Science and Higher Education. He also was, for two terms, the vice chancellor of Warsaw University. Also he was co-editor and co-author of the commentary to the Law on Higher Education, published by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Dr. Joanna Róg-Dyrda of our firm also was co-author of this commentary.
